Even after using git push, I couldn't see the new commit, which is why I posted and I even edited the post after I was able to finally do it.

Hi,
Tried reinstalling but still not working. As soon as the install finishes github desktop starts automatically but gets terminated soon with a dialog box saying "Not responding. Close the program." When I checked the directory in APPDATA, it was installed.

SHM-> Use Git bash. It works MUCH MUCH better. If you use the default installer options when installing GIT, it works fine. Try runnig Git Bash.
