And the USATour arrived the State of Nebraska

Last Saturday, we completed our 44th flight, and arrived to the state of Nebraska. As usual, we met early in the lobby of the terminal of our departing port of Portland, and greet. And prepared. The pilots, all brought long range propeller aircraft. Some civilian, some military versions. As the time came close for take off, I indicated the pilots again, that our departure heading East needed to be taken with Caution, and following the plan somehow to the plan; in order to avoid rapidly climbing terrains. All pilots performed really well, and cleared the summit confortably reaching the cruising altitude of 15000. Sure, Mixture and pitch control is part of the game when you are flying those babes: and IAHM-COL could have had a better control of the Mixture, to gain some better speed from the get going ... but other than that -- departure went smooth. Skyboat, rapidly taking the lead on his powerful and blasting fast Electra L.188.
The Electra was not the only plane asking for some more speed: Then there was the Junker Ju390 -- Military personnel operating incognito on a Lufthansa Livery that wouldn't have deceived anyone.

As we fly, and meet friends, and talk all sort of topics -- certainly sometimes disregarding the boundary of political correctness, the city of Boise presented itself in the middle of a large valley surrounded by impressive mountains, as the Sierras lifted. Sincerely, flying at moderately low altitudes in this part of the Country offers very impressive views -- a beautiful part of the Country. Surrounded by Natural reserves such as the great Tetons, and Yellowstone. The weather cooperated, and mostly allowed us great views thru some scattered clouds.

USA Tour is never exempt of crashes: Skyboat can testify with his 4 consecutive "nasal-errors" bound system explosions. Luckily he always found an amenable aerodrome to catapult himself back into the Tour. MV-DP terrasync decided to be as uncooperative as possible, leaving him waiting for a next time (bummer), and KP-420 early departure was probably the consequence of some yet to be known computer issue (?). But, more heartbreakingly, N22 computer crash waited all the way to a very short (50 nm or so) distance from the destination port: Eppley Field.

In any case, we had tons of fun, and we came down in a promenade of landing craft, that looked pulled from the most entertaining museum of aviation. All in all, a typical USA tour event, fun loaded, surprise packed. And flying among a group of comrades that demostrate that flying is all about the fun, and from which you can be amazed on their accomplishment as FG pilots.
