I really question why you guys post VATSIM/P3D stuff on a FlightGear forum.

@it0uchpods, its because they can. there are no rules against it. It falls under the "Free Speech" part of the forum, also known as the First Amendment to the US Constitution, and our first right, The right to speak freely, and even more importantly, to be able to debate people. They are excersising that right by posting here instead of the "official forums" because everyone that they know is over here, not on the sim's respected forums. Kinda like my Universal Edition of "What/Where did you fly today?".

In other words, this forum is for FlightGear in mind, but open to anything.

well. I personally only use FlightGear. Which does not mean I don't want to see the screenshots of other simulators and recognize where our simulator have "room to improve" to spare....

An screenshot says nothing about other important stuff such as FDM and realism in operations of a given aircraft. But some of the shots shared here do talk in volumes about how much advanced some proprietary software is become over FG in the "aesthetics" and rendering field.


I hope the lower eye-candy translates in uber perfomance in a wider range of hardware for FlightGear, yet I don't think that's the case: honestly.

A front where FlightGear is the leader is in multiplatform and openness (as in OpenSource/GPLed). And thus, we should be a community vigilante of this advantage and understand what this means and fight for it if necessary.
