That is the same I want, but the problem is that I am too invested into P3d, and flying in FG is just boring for me. Same goes for the others who have switched, and I am a person who likes commercial flying and GA flying along with realistic ATC with good amount of traffic around me like in RL. So, you can never get the people who have switched into other sims unless there comes a situation where FG is better than the sim they are using at the moment and FG gets populated with both that much pilots and ATC on a daily basis.
On the other hand, since you said about long hauls VATSIM is hosting an Ugandan Fly-in event where there will be ATC for 12 continuous hours. And Wecsje and some others are flying from EBBR to HUEN for ~8hours I think. Maybe you could join them. You wont notice any difference, they will still be like any pilot on your pilot list and you can communicate to them via discord/mumble just like old times. The only difference is a change of MP server. Before you say, you need Navigraph, you dont need them, if you are interested I will teach you how you can fly without them.
Now I know you like to keep your laptop on and let it fly for long hours, that may be difficult to do in VATSIM since if a controller comes online and you dont respond he may call the SUP. You can do that on FG-MP, but otherwise for group flights like these why dont you give it a try. You never tried it, have you?
I fly a lot with some of my friends on VATSIM when I am at home and you could join us, but on the other hand if you are stubborn and not wishing to try it, I cant do anything.
I wont be arguing with you on which is better or anything of that sort, I tried to get the community together by using VATSIM, but if you guys have no interest why should I keep trying.
With regard to FG - MP events, I wont be hosting anymore and the Gibraltar will be my last. The World's Challenging Approaches Tour can be organised by someone who is interested in FG-MP. (Preference goes to Israel first and if he declines anyone can)
