@Jwocky @Pilots flying to Genoa

I was observing you while you were doing the test session.

Just a small note, while using RWY 10 don't bring the aircraft for a straight in approach (because of that mountain) instead ask them to do the circle to land procedure.

Normally runway in use in Genoa is 28 both departures and arrivals with the exception of these cases:
  • tail wind over 10 kts for landing
  • tail wind over 7 kts for departure

Image

  • The Break consists in a left turn of 45° at 1360 ft and at 1 miles from threshold of runway 28.
  • After turn, proceed and maintain your heading for 20 seconds and then turn right heading 284 (course of runway 28) into downwind and descend 1.000 ft.
  • Reaching threshold of runway 10 descend 700 ft and then, passing it, calculate 20 seconds from last turn of 180°.
  • During last turn descend 200 ft/min and report on final

Well yeah, I was at 7kn for dep. And I had no non-English speaker and one fighter jokey who didn't listen. So, I keep them rather safe!

Okay, my little test session at LIMJ is finished. I changed a little bit the procedures to adapt more to FG and the weather, but otherwise, it was already some traffic. See you tomorrow!

Was that one of you on fgcom about 20 minutes ago? I saw some people on fgcom.flightgear.org in the area.

You either call it Venice or Venezia, but not Venize! :lol:

LIPX (Verona Villafranca) briefing

In the last six months, some procedures were changed, especially for the arrivals from the North. Therefore, make sure to use the latest AIP Italy charts when planning your flight.

For arrivals, the entry points are:
  • from the North: NEVNI or IDREK (alas, the scenic and challenging ELTAR1A STAR is not in use anymore);
  • from the East: OSTEG;
  • from the South: PAR or BOA;
  • from the West: TZO or SRN.

Please make sure to:
  • use the published procedures (or to request vectoring on initial contact), and fly at the prescribed altitudes;
  • state your callsign everytime;
  • start at a parking position (if you are flying from LIPX).
Doing so will greatly speed things up (especially if there is a good amount of traffic).

Scenery: due to time constraints I haven't been fully able to model it, however, this night I did a new 2D build and I am adding some pre-existing 3D models, as well as ground signs, as I type. This build will also contain all the missing fixes (if you happen to use a recent build of FlightGear, they will appear in the map). Here is the link to the new build.
If you are not able to download it, make sure to use at least the December 12th, 2016 release.

OpenRadar procedures: they are already available from the upstream OpenRadar routes project.

See you this evening!
