Re: bum steer
AERORP is simply the centre of gravity when the aerodynamics were measured (or calculated from). ... Why not call it the neutral point ? The neutral point is something else; AERORP is usually defined as I stated. It is possible that AERORP could be at the neutral point but AERORP does not have to b...

It is somewhat misleading to say it could be anywhere on the airframe; but equally it has nothing to do with the centre of pressure.

Re: A new Flight Simulator
As I said there is help available if you ask; if you send me a .blend I'll make an .ac3d for you; and a video of how I did this so you can see what has to be done. It is entirely possible to do this with only opensource; the .ac3d format is documented and supported in OSG; you don't need to use AC3d...

Re: A new Flight Simulator
...Because of this i have only made one model for flightgear, just to much hassle. I would really like to see the blender format being used in flightgear since its very popular and has a great user support, not to mention open source. My second issue is the scripting language. NASAL is an almost co...

Re: Help! Why is FG so bad?
I'm using Visual Studio 2015 with cmake. I also build OSG (from master i.e. 3.7 head). I've developed stuff for both unix and Windows; generally I'll prefer MSVC because and even do unix developments on Win32 until it gets to the point where I can't (e.g. unix only things like shm). I found that bot...

Re: Help! Why is FG so bad?
And again: We have nice clouds and a kazillion aircraft, but..... But probably there IS better documentation Back in 2014 when I got back into desktop simulation I did a complete review of everything on the market (at that time); which was FSX (bought a gold edition for 20eur); X-Plane (tried the d...

Re: Help! Why is FG so bad?
>I am not really with you about how easy or not it is to contribute to FG source code The hardest part is understanding the core source and being able to write in C++. It took me months to get up to speed with the codebase enough to make changes. The first changes I made were simple - to fix segfaul...

Re: Catalog for QT5 Launcher, Aircrafts in FGMEMBERS
http://static.djgummikuh.de/FGMEMBERS/catalog.xml Neat; that will make things so much easier for those who can't use git. However I just checked the catalog and it seems that the F-15 is out of date compared to FGAddon; not sure if this is just the F-15 or affects all of the repositories - can you ...

Re: Help! Why is FG so bad?
For the work in progress I deleted all textures and gave the outside a grey material. And what do I get in FG? Or rather what do I NOT get? Shadows! … indeed I also noticed that high poly does not impact the frame rate too much. I am doing an extremely high poly and had planned to bake a normal map...

Re: Old good FSX
I'm also seeing this problem; I've posted onto the main forums and I'll investigate further. There are two parts to the issue; 1) it appears that the outside pressure is changing almost instantly for an as yet unknown reason. 2) The autopilot in your aircraft can't handle the sudden pressure change....
