Re: Fdm galore

Modern aircraft flight management computers will determine the power needed by the engines to take off, based on a number of factors such as runway length, wind speed, temperature, and most importantly the weight of the aircraft. In older aircraft these calculations were performed by the pilots bef...

Re: Fdm galore

All wise airlines I know of that operate Boeing aircraft, use TOGA during takeoff to prevent engine wear. This is completely normal, common practice.

Re: Fdm galore

The TOGA button can perform two completely separate functions depending on the phase of flight the aircraft is in. (1) During the takeoff, the pilot in command will manually set the thrust levers to 40% N1 and check that both engines are spooling up simultaneously and are stable. If so, he will pres...

Re: EK703 Near-Collision w/ HM054

With scale being the issue main issue we're looking at here of course, but that still seems like have TCAS a TA when they are heading towards each other at those closing speeds, the margins are kinda narrow don't you think. The longitudinal margins are indeed narrow, but we have to remember that Em...

Re: EK703 Near-Collision w/ HM054

- why did the ATC not notice EK703 read back wrong? Major hearback error by the controller. - why did EK703 not see HM054 in their TCAS? HM054 saw the Airbus ... They both saw each other on TCAS. But as you can hear in the background during one of the transmissions, there was only a TCAS TA (Traffi...

Re: Imagine, it is night

MKC tower operates 24/7; you may have confused that with the rotating beacon which operates sunset-sunrise (just like most other airports). STJ has an 8000' runway, more than enough to handle any type of business jet. Many of them do in fact land there, such as the Hawker 4000 and Falcon 2000. ICT i...

Re: OMG, i am doomed

It's very likely that this is P3D running prosim737. The hardware is supplied by MOOG.
